About our online store
Aryawoods was established in 2003 by Mr. Biju Gopalkrishnan Nair, under the expert technical guidance of qualified professionals. With a branch office located in Raleigh, North Carolina, we have grown into a trusted and respected name in the wood industry.
We are proud to say that our products are regarded as some of the best in the industry and are widely accepted by leading and reputed musical instrument manufacturers around the world. Our commitment is to deliver exceptional service that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
At Aryawoods, we believe that quality should never depend on quantity. Whether large or small, every order receives the same level of care and precision. Reliability and Aryawoods go hand in hand — and that’s a promise we stand by.
At Aryawoods, we procure premium-grade Rosewood and Ebony logs through official auctions conducted by the Forest Department of the Government of India. Once acquired, the logs are carefully quarter-cut into specific sizes based on client requirements and industry standards.
We source our Rosewood primarily from the lush forest regions of the Uttara Kannada district in Northern Karnataka — an area globally renowned for its richly grained, purple-hued timber. Among these, the timeless classic Dalbergia Latifolia, commonly known as East Indian Rosewood, stands out as a superior choice.
This beautifully variegated wood ranges in color from golden brown to deep purplish brown, often streaked with darker lines. With age, it tends to deepen into a rich, dark brown. The wood has a fine to medium texture with small pores and narrowly interlocked grain. It is highly durable, resistant to termite attack, and valued not just for its strength, but also for its characteristic rose-like fragrance when worked — hence the name Rosewood.
Since the 1960s, East Indian Rosewood has become a top choice for acoustic guitar backs and sides, serving as the sustainable and high-quality alternative to the now-endangered Brazilian Rosewood.
